The American Revolution, perhaps the most momentous war-related milestone in American history, would not have been possible without the strenuous efforts of the courageous men we call Patriots or otherwise known as the Founding Fathers of America, who gave their all in the fight for freedom against the British. Many names of great men come to mind when we think â€Å"founding fathers,† such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, or Samuel Adams. Yet there is still one great patriot and founding father who seems to stand out above the rest, and that man is Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson is widely known as being the author of the Declaration of Independence and the Louisiana Purchase that bought more than 20% of the U.S. However, what most†¦show more content†¦He wanted to avoid building a nation based on industrialization and manufacturing; he believed it would most likely lead to immorality. He had profound confidence in America’s potential for a great na tion. According to etext.virginia.edu, he believed all men had certain rights, rights that could not be destroyed or created, and stand whether or not government is present. For Jefferson, a suitable government was one that did not limit individual rights, nor did it allow any individual to limit the rights of another. He held a deep belief that every individual human being had a natural sense of honesty and morality. According to Wikipedia, he believed that a society could be built and function adequately enough just by the moral sense of an individual. Also according to Wikipedia, Jefferson was â€Å"sometimes seen as a philosophical anarchist†. He was â€Å"a man of the Enlightenment† and â€Å"was among the many intellectuals in both Britain and France.† He supported separating church from state, and religious freedom for every American. He was leader of the Democratic-Republican Party and founded the University of Virginia. In 1962, while President John F.
